    well I see a little flippancy and humour going in and thats the forum- its simply that its an unusual question- suitable food - if you mean baiting and I am sure you dont its not a technique used - the exception is Stewart Island white tail where broadleaf is cut and watched - broadleaf is like ice cream to deer - we tried salt blocks on a station I worked on to attract deer - did not work - but whats there at Boyd - well spring is nearly here although I would guess Boyd more likely mid november for grass growth - any open areas that get the sun may well produce some grass especially along the sides of streams - but glassing is your best option - use of a thermal would be good - in the beech forest they will still be wandering and feeding on any new growth and windfall - but have a look for areas of new grass growth and palatable shrubs such as the comprosmas along the streams- with deer numbers up they will keep moving looking for feed
