wash some bleach through I reckon.
Wouldn't use bleach!!
Get some of those antibacterial tablets that you throw in to clean out drinking bottles/camel backs. We use them at work. Just be prepared to rinse it about 100 times afterwards, and only use the recommended amount. Sure cleans it good, but getting rid of the chlorine taste afterwards takes a LOT of rinsing.
Edit - the ones we use are called Milton Anti-bacterial Tablets.
baking soda.
Bleach is chlorine.
From the Supermarket get a tub of Powerade powder. Just one teaspoon to give it a bit of flavour (or Raro etc). Rinse the bladder well after use and store it in the freezer
I used to use a dash of lemon and barley cordial, worked a treat and the nice flavour encourages you to drink more. I would have put maybe 40ml cordial-3l water
Has it been bitter since you got it? or has it got worse Ants?
Wash out with baking soda and sqeeze a lemon into it. Rinse out with water.
Store the bladder in the freezer until needed. No smells or bad tastes.
Life is natures way of keeping meat fresh
Throw it in the trash. Take a 2L milk bottle.
couldn't think of anything worse, old milk bottles
can never get the odd taste out of them, didn't matter how many times the got cleaned.
Milton or nutria baby bottle cleaner does the trick, some what, but you still have that taste….
The key is to get a get a 18 year old "hot" backpacker to follow u around with some distilled cold water
if not…. get use to the water
Bought it fri , used it sat . Still yuk. Yeh I've always been a bottle guy, not a camel thingee guy at all
what you don't like drinking out a straw!!!!!
Even thought they are a great idea, give me a bottle any day, XXXX please or any other beer
I've had a camel back bladder for years and it still tastes 'plastic'. I've never used anything flavoured or with sugar in it - that just encourages mold and bacterial growth. I just put some rock salt in the water and face the fact that it tastes a bit funky.
Ive used a hunters element one, no taste but that lasted a few trips before springing a leak. Use a 3 litre Kathandu one that one seems to last. No taste that I notice.
