Cancelation Harkness Hut Kawekas April 13-20, 2022 (Wrong month in earlier post)

    Hi all
Due to covid our party has had to pull out of our booking to fly into Harkness Hut (Kaweka's) on Wednesday or Thursday, once the weather clears. If you are keen to take the opportunity to hunt the iconic Harkness valley and surrounds please contact Helisika. Great opportunity for a great place and time to hunt. If you haven't been there before, there are lots of creek crossings but the area is big and easy to get around. Really gutted we can't be there but them are the breaks, we will get in during May once this virus crap is over hopefully.

    Hi
We had a helicopter booking that means no other parties can fly to the hut, the area is still open to all who can get in there, as is the hut, but the heli pad is closed for the period of the booking. It has been like that for twenty years or more to stop loads of hunters being dropped on top each other at popular hunting destinations.

Although that said, I once flew into Tussock with one operator and a day or so later another operator flew in. Fortunately we were all in the hut at the time so when we came out to greet them, they flew off, did not even land.

Guess it is a bit like the pirate code - more guidelines than rules.
