Hi everyone, just looking for any insight if anyone has ever hunted the cascade plateau area just north of cascade River ? Been doing my research but it's can't find too much info on the area. Any help would be much appreciated

What is it you wanna know about the Plateaux? You won't find YouTube clips or hunting mag stories about jokers boofing deer on the Plateaux. Its to do with the highly mineralized nature of the place.A sterile rocky desert type of place where palatables don't grow,so no deer up there. No feed. And the rocky boulder strewn floor donks hate for snapping hocks.Far better places to smack a deer in Sth Westland if you are coming all the way from Auz

Thanks mate, I got drawn for Haast roar ballot and got block 19 teer creek which is the plateau. Unfortunately didn't get to pick where the block, but if it's that barren I'll wander up into the public land instead for the week.

If there are bushy side creeks and gullies on the block then that is where I would be looking. It is hard scrabble going up on the plateau with low scrub and exposed rocky ridges.
