Do you think they had been shot? Or some sort of natural cause, DoC just went through here(Buller region) and shot anything with a heartbeat which is a pain because there is not that many animals to start with. Good to hear you had a good week, the mountains are a great challenge looking for shammy, might be worth having another look closer to the rut.
