I would say once your mum and stepfather are reassured that everything will be ok I can't see why they would not let you go as this would be a really good confidence builder for you and also gets you away from the house and out into nature plus it will help keep your fitness up for soccer. Yeah I know she can be bloody stubborn mate I was married to her long enough and she used to try and keep me pinned under her thumb too. You never know mate if she can see that you are passionate about being out in the bush which is somewhere she can not go due to her physical limitations and that people are willing to teach you how to be safe and how to put food on the table she may see it in a different light, I (and members here) would rather encourage you to enjoy the outdoors than discourage it.
