Classic Hunt with super cool rifle

Quite a few years ago I thing 2016 or 17 I was just too late and missed out on owning an as new Mauser in 6.5 x 55
which was actually same cal as my first ever center fire rifle. I loved it even though it kicked like a very angry mule
It was in reality an old piece that needed to be retired.

So I cant quite remember but said Mauser appeared on here again for sale.Cant remember actually if for sale of the owner remembered I wanted it

It wasn't getting past me no way on second time round. Grabbed it and into the safe it went.

Last hunting trip to a private Fallow Block I mentioned I d never shot a big Buck. Shot plenty of scruffy things but said Id like to see if we could a crack it
So decisions and booking done.Fitted scope had range day and Holy Shit this is a shooter BOOM the Fucking virus shows up so all over .

Got the promise of first back after we released by our Commie Leader and off we went. The block not hunted for a while theres animals every where

Didn't take long till Midget had a nice meat animal in the pot

Wandering about we see this head poking up on a ridge way out in front so get sneaky and start to get closer. Just not close enough but a bigish boy for sure

So we work out a sneaky approach as he has a few girlies with him and they all pretty peaceful. Took nearly 3 hours to finally get to a suitable firing solution up hill down dale creeping up

Watching through the scope for right shot at around 350 meteres the last girl moved along shot taken and it was a beauty.. Wack Down and stone cold dead .

Turns out right in the heart for instant result.. Pretty stunned with the stalk waiting waiting for the right shot them wandering off a little and repeat again

6.5x55 the King of Calibres. Consider trying 143 eld-x. They too are magic.

The little dog looks like he ate the whole deer, considering there's a lab next to him that's no mean feat. Good head that.
