Half of the North Island id say. Sit rep is lots of hunters, piss drinkers and cowboys with blistered thumbs from pushing the buttons on electronic callers all day resulting in spooky non committal stags.

Having said that the odd deer has been shot. A friend of mine got a nice 6 point stag last week but he was 3-4 hours in from road end.
