I know a lot but it seems less every day...
If they don't then a possie of North islanders may have to pick up the slack. (-:
Certainly no rabbits in the vineyard now with all that grass. Since the boards were disbanded It’s been the land owners responsibility to control rabbits on their land. Not sure what they are whingeing about spending $5000. Some farms down here spend close to 6 figures on pest control annually.

It’s not just Otago, rabbits have been a bit of a problem here too. One neighbour was complaining about them, when he sold the new owner shot 12 in his first week and still counted another 17 with a thermal scope, and that’s on one hectare.
I was seeing 10-12 at night, now it’s down to 1-2, but just saw a youngster this morning so numbers are on the increase again.
Have a few around here too.
The virus used to go through pretty regular.
Will have to shoot a few if it doesn't.
Tarrras was greener this week than Ive ever seen it...and didnot see single rabbit on cluden hill as drove over n back during day.... maybe its been a wetter spring/summer thus far......that said month back saw close to 50 rabbits around burkes pass, fairlie side of township..the most I can recall seeing.
When driving through I've noticed that with the changing land use around your region Padox, the rabbit population has dropped significantly. Places where they were once rampant are looking very green. Its great to see. We just need to get the lifestyle blocks to get their act together.
Last year in summer counted over 100 rabbits from one spot on the Roxburgh golf course. Bloody things can stay over that side of the hill. Hares are pretty bad round here at the moment though, counted 16 and two deer on one 3 ha new grass paddock couple evenings ago

Does that mean , some of these upper-crusters are starting to realize that us common-filth hunter-killer types actually do have an important role to play so that they can keep swilling their Shiraz with the unique gibbston bouquets?
I think I'll stick to my couple of grass-roots decent bloke nz'ers thanks.
The best camouflage pattern is 'hold still and be quiet. '
Had a laugh when I read they get their hunter in every three weeks.
That's not even trying to control them lol
