Thread: composite stocks

hey all, i have a tikka t3 and i was wondering what the advantage would be if i fitted it with a new composite stock. i dont know much about them but i heard that they are pretty light etc.. would it make a diff with the way the gun shoots? or should i just stick with the t3 plastic stock? any thoughts on this chaps?

Do you need it? How does it shoot now ? I imagine pretty good. It will be stiffer if we are talking about the bell and carson ones i doubt it will be lighter. If its a hunting hack i wouldnt worry.

its a .243 and shoots like one,3 shots in a fifty cent at 100m near abouts.

What do you want from it. First thing id do would be change the plastic bolt shroud. The stock will be an improvement but are there other things you can soend the money on? Gps binos decent boots. If it shoots well and is nice to carry a new stock would be last on my list . But still on my list though

just want to make it a bit lighter if i could. may even get the barrel reduced to 20 inch. thats all.

Yea t3s are.pretty light already. Get the bolt fluted looks trick too.

Word of advice, don't do it via the web. The shroud I got was loose and rattled. The retailer was fine about swapping it, but I had to try a few to get one that was silent. Evidently I wasn't the first
