Conservation Minister. out hunting with NZGAC

Could you imagine useless Eugenie Sage doing this? Looks like a good initiative from the current Conservation Minister.... At least it seems she has an open mind. Plus; she is known to fish and gather for her family. Especially worthy when you think she has just returned to work after cancer treatment. Not a Labour fanboy, but giving credit when it's due

Me neither, but she’s a huge improvement on Sage.

People should take this as a good thing. Her electorate is quite rural and a lot of people rely on bush tucker. If she pisses them off by killing everything that moves her reelection is harder.

So she is much more likely to be reasonable and have an open enough mind to allow GAC and NZDA to sway her into choosing the middle ground as opposed to sage who rubber stamped whatever twig and tweet wanted.

Wholeheartedly agree....but as good as it might be....still not voting for the Red mob...She will tow the party line above all else.

Good to see the Minister using a 270, she has a big future if she can make such wise decisions

My concern is that the DoC estate looks likely to handed over to Maori...what better person to have been appointed as Minister of Conservation in order to expedite this?

Maybe I'm a Pollyanna, but would rather be a glass half-full person than half empty. I just reckon it seems a positive change compared to the previous situation. Oh well......

I cannot see such an iniquitous action occurring. "DoC Estate" is no such thing. DoC is only a delegated administrator of a portion of NZ PUBLIC LAND- Our Land.

If your base line was Eugenie Sage.... anything else will be an improvement.... I'd love to be glass half full too; but I currently see party lines as the be all and end all for politicians. They are all too parochial to recognize differing needs based on constituents or even when a good idea happens to be floated by any party that doesn't have the same skunk stripe as them.
