The final insult was when I put a complaint in against the police through the IPCA and they put it down as inexperience on the police officers part. I had two poachers on camera at 2.30 am. I rang the police straight away and then went and stalked them. I found their vehicle and got a rego and was constantly updating them through 111 calls.

about it. I finally found out that morning they were never arrested and were let go and allowed to leave with the rifle that was found loaded in the van. Not only that the arms officer had followed up with them and gave them a formal warning and no prosecution or suspension of license.

I had to push the police hard to put it through court and we got there in the end. But it took about 15 months. They tried to recover the rifle afterwards but no luck. Only one of the guys had a firearms license and it belonged to the one who didn't have a license.

After all of that, one of them was discharged without conviction and had already been caught poaching in the past. He also never lost his license. The other guy got a $150 fine.

The whole process was a mess and a waste of time and resources. Wairarapa police were incompetent, the arms officer letting them off with a warning was a joke and clearly the judge couldn't have cared less.

you should have completely disabled their vehicle via damage.that would have more punch than the cops.

Run tractor and post rammer down and poke six posts in tight against car then go back to bed. One at each end and one close to each door so can't get into vechille. They can't go home.

Yes I've complained to the IPCA before and it is a total waste of time - utterly toothless

I've got some fuckwit that stole 40k worth of tools out of my storage garage and he is still paying me off the 4k fine at sod-all per week and that was nearly 10 years ago

Geeze things have changed, gone are the days we would shoot opossums off power poles in town. The good old Wairarapa coming up to speed.

Its very disappointing to hear that people have had such bad interactions with the Police. They do seem so incompetent these days.

I think that's what happens when you place more importance on getting 1500 new cops but ignore the fact that there is now no one left to train them.

Just a shit reflection of NZ society today unfortunately. It is only a matter of time before a tragedy occurs. Not good enough
