Yeah they're gonna do the Orongorongo valley in the Rimutaka's this September as well. This area has never been poisoned due to Landcare doing "research" for the last 50 odd years but are pulling out. Must be useless buggers if they've got nothing to show for that time huh? As the local NZDA in the area, we successfully campaigned for deer repellent and will be looking to do that every time they drop it. Our hunting club is setting up a separate group to help work towards solutions to preserve the herd so it will be there for future generations to hunt, website still under construction but check out wakatipuwhitetail.co.nz as there will no doubt be more 1080 planned in the future again.
