I’m planning a few hunting missions over Xmas and looking for recommendations for a game processor near Taupo. Googled Farm & Game Meat Processors and they look good. But if anyone has first hand recommendations I’d be keen to hear from you.

No pressure
Haha, yeah I’m staying with family for 2 weeks which means 30 people will be expecting sausages :)
Yip Farm & Game are good, I use them. Might pay to ring them though to see when they open up again in the new year.
Yes Farm and Game are good.
Dropped plenty in there for clients and haven't had any complaints.
Another plug for farm and game, great to deal with. Make good sausages and salamis
As others have written have used and known for years. Andrew and team will be ragged with heaps of beef and killed 30 sheep one day last week
Thanks for the comments guys. Will give Farm and Game a call to check opening days over Xmas - New Year.
Late to the party, but they're pretty good. Pay the extra for natural skins on the sausages.
If anyones interested, shot a couple of deer over xmas and had them processed at Cameron Harrison in Wellington. Not cheap but good quality sausages, patties, meat balls and mince. Ended up with 40kgs for $369.
Home killing or taking a deer you shot to be processed is no longer a 'cheap' option. Last year we bought in a homekill outfit to do two cattlebeasts. The price had gone up markedly since we last used them (we have processed them ourselves the last couple of times), and all up the meat (beef) averaged out at $17/kg. Lost opportunity cost of the steers, onsite kill cost, processing costs/kg, additional cost to make sausages etc.
We hardly buy supermarket meat, but do keep our eye out for those 'failed export order' of lamb legs @ $8/kg, and pork if we want to spoil ourselves. I deboned one of those lamb legs and minced it all. Worked out at $10/kg.
Our local processor is quite good value still. Skin, bone, slice & pack $100 for a large deer without small goods. Not sure what they classify as large but I did have to pay extra when I dropped off a red/wap cross
I should add the 40kgs included all meat vacuum packed for individual meals. I can do this myself but saved a few hours of sorting it all out.
I pay $25 per kg for my venison biersticks and do so with a smile. Best venison small good I have ever had. Quality is worth it when I'm only get snags and mince done 99% of the time. Deliver them bags of trim after I have processed the animal
A good thing to try is tip cokecola over the pork and see what climbs out of the pork
With respect I think your out of touch, sure there is still the odd bloke out there doing it for $6-7 maybe but if comparing quality sausages and mince for $9.22kg to shop stuff at $20+ its not to bad.Running a business these days is blimmen niggly as far as costs - charge out rates - happy customers goes.Quality product is always first then price.
Counties Custom Killing sausages are $7/kg with a min 8kg of trim per flavour, seams to be a std price nowadays. they also do sensational salamis
Still $5 a kg for the best session sausages ever.
I used to tie sausages for him when I was still at school.45 odd years ago.
He still powers out a heap of goodies
Can't say who it is as will be unindated and can't get mine done.
