    Deer in Western Australia

Last weekend I had the opportunity to have a look around the southern bit of WA during a business trip over here. Its a stunning part of the country and I got to wondering whether there are deer herds in any of the national parks (despite the multiple 1080 warning signs). Did a bit of googling and realised that we are bloody lucky to live and hunt in godzone. Check out this link Deer WA - Shooters Forum

Very interesting. Unfortunately the kill everything on sight attitude is very prevelant here in nz too, I see and hear evidence of it regularly.

Hunted reds in behind Collie in WA a few years back. All that I saw were in pretty bad nick. Fallow around Busselton too

There are isolated herds of deer dotted about the place…..you don’t dare tell anyone where though or they won’t last long!

There’s a small herd of Fallow that make the occasional appearance at a friend’s farm roughly 6 hours south of Perth. It’s a long way to go for a weekend though so tend to just chase foxes around closer to home. No hunting in national parks either over here.
