    Different shelter options

Just wondering what everyones preferences are on different types of shelter's for hunting i.e bivvy's vs fly's vs tent's etc?
I have been using a fly as it is nice and light and versatile but have recently been finding it abit of a pain in the arse to find a place to pitch it.

    Cheers,
    Josh

I think you'll find most people will have a range of flys, maybe a 2 man bivy tent, and a couple of different tents to cover different situations from summer to winter, from bush to open tops.

One man light weight tent for the warmer months or lightweight solo missions, two man MSR for winter months or extended trips. Owned a fly for years, have never used it.

Keeping in mind I rarely camp below the bushline.

Yeah, got a mix. Doite 1.5 man (me, pack, dog) for anything but summer stuff really. Have my old army fly and hopefully testing a new lightweight Stoney Creek fly shortly.

Should state I'm very much the opposite. There are no bushlines where I hunt because we have no tops

Lightweight 1kg tent and a fly also sometimes. IF it's wet it's so much nicer having a fly pitched over the front of the tent so you have some space to get wet gear off before getting in the tent and space to sit around, cook etc

Sometimes I'll go on a mission where I have no set plan of where I will end up at darkness so I take a fly only and just pitch it using the rifle as a pole. Pack it up in the morning chuck it in the pack and im off again.

Hennessy hammock here, finding 2 suitable trees to pitch it isnt always that easy. A ratchet tiedown to tension it up over long spans is handy also.
