    Do Chamois see colour.

Is blaze in Chamois country a dumb idea?

    Cheers

Not a dumb idea to be seen by others. They have fantastic eye sight, they are inquisitive. I have had them come in close by slowly waving a black hat. I usually wear blue merino shirts and still hunt them successfully.

No it's far from a dumb idea in any country nowadays. To a Chamois colour don't mean squat, any movement on the other hand from a hunter and he or she will pick it up quicker than you can blink.
Keeping a buck interested by a slight wave of the hat as mentioned will bring him in if done properly,,the rutting season can catch him off guard.
Good luck,,,glass, glass, and then glass some more.

It doesn’t matter what you wear.
    Keep wind in your favour.
Stay off the skylines and sunny faces.
Look over country with your binos properly first.
If you see one, chances are there’ll be more.
They may see you first, but are very inquisitive animals - depending on hunting pressure.
