    What a shame.

    Gutshooting with buckshot?
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

3 good men....priceless and cant be replaced....
    1 helicoptor??? $500,000
at 2 rounds per animal 20,000 rounds at about $0.50 per so $10,000
    avgas /helicoptor hire ??? 100 animals per hour = 100 hours??? at what ??? $800 per hr??? $80,000

wages of guys doing the shooting and number crunchers in orifaces 6 months so $30,000 each x ??6 people $180,000

so somewhere around 300,000 without taking helicoptor into account so $30 per animal????

How exactly have 10,000 kills been counted? How many were wounded, and how carefully were they counted. I’m betting the true figures are higher.

Helicopter was not DOC property, nor was pilot DOC employee, so they don't carry cost of that.

As for the wasted meat... well, we're rich, we've got loads of food in NZ and so we can just leave it to rot.
