The block is clearly DOC land on the DOC mapping website, when you click it a box pops up where you can click 'apply for permit'. I think NewbieZAR is onto it. The block is in NI and his land adjoins it with no clear natural boundary. I used a software that I use for work purposes to see land details such as owners, title references etc. And that block had no named owners just like the block of forest next to it. The guy is probably using it as his own because no one from DOC tells him otherwise.

Anyways, I have e-mailed DOC office for clarification and will post the result if I hear back from them. Either way I probably won't go there anytime soon, even if I can hunt there that farmer has probably shot everything there is since he lives right next to it.
