Doughboy bay tips

I am heading into Doughboy the week after next with two teenage boys. It's the first time I have been to that block so hoping for some tips from the guys that have been there. Feel free to PM rather than post if you prefer.

Keen for any tips on hunting spots.
What's the best spot to fish off the rocks without killing the teenagers.
Also keen to know how to avoid the quicksand?
Does the block get regular trampers given that it's not on the north west circuit?
I keep reading reports of bed bugs in SI huts so if anyone has been there recently and can confirm the bed bug status that would be appreciated.

Fishing at Doughboy is off the rocks to your right standing at the hut door looking out. Theres a rough track that gives access to the peninsula where you can fish off.
The quicksand is where you find it mainly around where you cross the river, low tide is best for that. The river changes course a lot so can't give you up to date info.
As to the hunting the edges of the bush bordering the sand dune areas willl show you deer prints. We see them walking around the sand beach edges a bit. Look for where the broadleaf trees are and deer will frequent those spots for windfall leaves.
Trampers will use the hut also as will some beach combers visit looking for ambergris. The dunes on the south side of the river is littered with plastic from all over the world so expect that.
At the far end of those dunes are a few spots for deer as is the bay around the corner from the south end dunes. Its a rugged neat spot except for the plastic.

Have been to Doughboy several times, last time a dead whale on beach made breathing a chore.
If heading around the bay cross the creeks in the bush edge as Quicksand on waters edge.
On the right on the peninsula there is a roped spot and plenty of butterfish below the rocks at low tide.
Straight across the bay from hut good mussel beds at low tide.Deer are all around the hut and we saw one between hut and toilet.
Its only a short walk to Masons bay and some good country in that direction but most head the other way into sand-hills at head of bay.
If flying in its fun landing on beach as approach angle is steep.

Thanks guys. I have been on the island a number of times so am aware of the plastic snow. Hoping for no dead whales and expecting at least one grister in the hut. Any tips on fishing that spot? I normally use a float to stay above the seaweed and crap.
