I went back over some pics and I think maybe what Im seeing is well grown 2 and 3 year olds and that the age mix is changing.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

A mate I know has plenty of Red hinds with fawns on his station in the Waiarapa. All in good condition. He only shoots Spikers/yearlings this time of year until the fawns have weaned.

You mite be right there mate, i've seen plenty of hinds with fawns in the Ruahines but also a few hinds that i thought should have a fawn but didn't seem too. Maybe they were just well grown younger animals.
