    Dumb luck ?

    Went for a hunt today

Took Houdini for his first outing and to test my new Leica Trinovids which arrived on Wednesday afternoon

Very greasy up there after all the rain we have had, couldn't get to the top even with the aggressive tries I have, TCocky was feeding out with this massive tractor.

    however, I digress.

Shot two Wallaby at the first point we come across, looking across the valley

First one I was pleased about 319 m with the 223 and the Serria 65gr sp, never had a failure with them yet but wouldn't want to push them much further on the animal that size second was an easy 186m

so, we got as far up as we could and went for a walk, dickhead is still a bit small to see over tussock , it was like taking a flying fish for a walk on lead,

then I made the mistake of letting him off and well..... Houdini.

Saw 4 good pigs but way across, shootable at 455 m but recovery, nah, I'm 60 not 16.

Leica worked well but having been there like 9.30 am till 3pm, wasn't anything I saw I couldn't have seen with the Bushnell Elites, so time will tell

So pack the rifles gear etc then headed down, Finn was dog tired so didn't bother stopping all the way home

Drove down the Mt, gravel roads, over hill across the bridges along the road in to Kurow, turned left then didn't hang about getting home

    Parked up in the drive

Got out to let Dog out

Here are a 4 day old pair of Trinovids sitting on the canopy on the back of the ute.
    Damn.
