Use the WAMS website to see just what is public road and whats not. Purple means legal formed road or unformed legal road. Both give unimpeded access to the public 24/7.
If I understand correctly from talking to a mate near there, Duncan rd is the new popular spot. The Farm is on Hunting HQ and quite a few people have been thinking of avoiding the fees. If that bit of info is of any use to you.
Tolley road is just around the corner
I think it does go down past your blue circle from memory, ive been up to that last farm a few times but I can't remember how long his driveway is. It's been probably 15 years or more since I've been hunting there but I know quite a few people drop off the road to go fishing in the river on the western side of the road so there may be one of those angler access signs and possibly even a track down into that Gulley. I knew the farmer on the other side of the river did used to get a lot of deer there but he did have a Cull a couple years back.
Looks like you are good up to where you want to go(according to WAMS).
Just a heads up, that access point requires crossing the Mungatutu which is fairly steep down and up. So much so that some kind soul has left a couple of ropes in place to help you get back out again. At least they were there the last time I went there a couple of years ago.
Been eyeing this spot up for awhile too, have heard it is becoming popular as well. Anyone know if you can access the block from Hoddle road to the south?
don't quote me on Hoddle road mate but i was told you can get so far then it becomes private land. it does show a "paper road" right through but im not keen to drive all the way there then demand access because of what it shows on a map haha.the farm it goes through is on the hunting HQ list so i guess you could potentially contact them and ask about access???
I have only ever hunted the central and southern Pureora, but would give the North block a go... especially with the coming aerial drop to the south.
May have a bit to do with its popularity??
