    Dusky and breaksea sounds

    Hi lads,

I have organised a trip to breaksea and dusky sounds in feb 2017, was wondering if anybody had been there and could suggest where to hunt. Not asking for spot x more like which maps we should download, and what general areas we should look at. Also at that time of year should we be hunting high or low, southern faces etc.

    Thanks Mohawk.

5 days isn't long enough for me, I need 14 days at least. I know it well in there. Where do I start, will give you a rough idea as I was hunting in there before we had a hand held GPS.

Breaksea: Beach harbour, First cove, second cove up too lake, third cove, the river 3k before the head of the Vancouver arm and the head of Vancouver arm.

Broughton arm: the first bay heading in on the right, the big river and the head of Broughton arm.

Wet jacket arm: Oki island rivers to the north, Moose lake, Shy lake, the head of Wet jacket.

Dusky: Cascade cove up to lake, mikes river, Shark cove, Henry burn, Pender burn.

It's my favourite place in NZ, have a ball and don't forget the bug spray.

Have hunted up wet jacket arm / Henry burn. Real tiger country, steep and thick bush. The fishing was far better than the hunting I reckon. Great rock biv up one of the creeks uff wet jacket arm which is about the only dry spot around and a good place to hunt the valley floor from

Not trying to pry, but what time in Feb are you heading in? We're planning a mission for 5 days from the 12th in the same area, there's going to be 10 of us so might pay to have a chinwag about where we're going to make sure to make sure we're not complicating eachother's hunting plans.

And especially if you see any Moa.
