    Edison river?

I have drawn this block in the Tahr ballot. Can anyone shed some light as to its worth, animal numbers and chopper cost?

Chopper will probably be around $800, can't tell you anymore about that block sorry... Was just coming on here to ask a similar question about the block we have drawn...
If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

What block have you got Sam? Thanks though. What operator works that side do you know and $800 would be one way for a 500 I'm guessing?

Gidday, got Barlow River, 4th period. $800 should get you in/out with James Scott in a 500(that's what the last 3 trips into various West Coast rivers with him have cost us)
If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

Its a block with decent animals but few and far between. I would be happy to have it. As of the first June it will be visited regularly by big fat pricks in kero taxi's. Cant help on cost sorry.
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.

I haven't dropped anyone off in those areas for a while and hear they have allowed better access for operators during the ballot?
Will you be camping in the main river or up the Edison itself?
Depending on where the nanny's are
You could be better off in the main catchment if the block boundary allows.
I reckon you will do well if the weather is good. They tend to be in good condition in there and the next river north.
The older ones always loose a bit of size due too being broomed off.
    Good luck.

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

I'm not exactly sure where the drop off is in relation to the camp site Dave so its all unplanned currently. I checked out Moir's guide and it is less than charming about the Mahitahi its self so who knows!! Am also waiting on a mate to see if he got a better block... Thanks for your help though.

    No letter for me mate,
I drew this block 3 years ago buy didn't go in
I knew a fella that went in last year but got hit by the front thatcame through in 6th period an had to get flown out earlier, James Scott pointed out some Chamios after he landed to pick them up.
The drop off point will be your campsite unless you want to fly camp

I'm waiting till march when the blocks come up for grabs to try get one
One things for sure, I'm more excited about the up an coming tahr rutt than the roar!

    The 9th is all good!
Hopefully they won't be too late getting into it with the dry summer. Should be good.
Plenty of spots handy to get on to a few.
Might have to do a couple overnighters
To make use of the time.
