I carry one as well. Not because of an experience like that. We have raid alarms at work that if used alert security and we get an immediate response. I consider the PLB as one of those. I carry mine when driving on the open road as well. Especially on the motorbike. Never know when something will happen to me or someone nearby and not have cell reception.....Mine is smaller than my cell, (or should I say my new cell is larger than my PLB....???) and it is about the same size as my wallet.
