oh shit..just remembered the worst one....shotguned a wallaby out otiao gorge way late one night,back when spotlighting was still a done thing......got home to Timaru some 2 hours later,parked in driveway and turned the escort off....car moved,looked at bro in law....not him,he looking at me....sure enough movement from boot....
carefully opened boot and grabbed tail of now very lively wallaby and found something to dong it good n properly....upon skinning it appears the buckshot had graised across skull knocking it out.... we learnt our lesson big time after that and made sure to dong properly anything before it went on truck deck.
