Another thing with fallow, they tend to be daytime dwellers more so than reds and give you the opportunity to assess them well. As R93 said, they are easy to score compared to some reds, don't let all the spellers put you off Length of palm is really the only measurement that can vary from scorer to scorer due to the location it is taken from.

Thanks guys that’s a dam fine start.
I’ve seen (what I think) were some good ones in our area of the uk and some bloody monsters in Germany.
Thanks again something I can spend a bit of time on learning.
We have a herd of over 200 just down the road from were I live. Might be a few in there I can have a look at

Had a German fella helping us out last week. His father is a guide over there.
He says the average fallow is heavier over there. They get some pretty big ones. Hungary is the place for really big buggers tho.

Not sure. All our original fallow cone from the UK and I think they gave us the shit ones

Any Hungarian blood has been mixed with them at least where we hunt.
Some big fallow have been taken the last few yrs in both the North and South islands.

Some caged hunts have bucks in excess of 300 DS and I hope to one day get one of that size where we hunt. Everything has to go right for that to happen tho.

An old Aussie mate of mine has just recently shot a huge buck in Hungary, around 300 DS.

Good man. Trouble is you will miss a lot of the red roar but we have seen a few good red stags here in the last week and land owner wants them shot.
    We just haven't had time.
