Those are nice animals,
It quite impressive what can happen with a little herd management and selective culling of meat animals.
Just have to say I saw some nice Fallow bucks on private land at Hawea a couple of weeks back. Both free range and some behind deer fences for the US market.
Interesting where I was free range there was one lovely wide buck that was almost tame and looked at us and slowly wandered off with his 2 does.
All the other Fallow bucks and does bolted the minute they got a hint we where present. I was hunting reds.

PS Padox your 3 x 270 makes me fee better hehehe.
my Red stag took 3 rounds from my 358win (3000 fpe) at less than 200 mtr to anchor (well he only went 30 mtrs but kept getting up after each of the first 2 shots) and then a 4th at point blank to stop him kicking. Big heavy shoulders and forelegs.
Real good add for noslers 1st 1 hit mid shoulder tracked shoulder blade and found projectile between blade and rib cage range 168m
Mite need to up grade to a 308 @Padox, ps bloody nice animals you have there , well done.
Na not a 308 fan like to stretch the legs a bit haha just need to change projectiles again

shit man, nice bucks
I really want to get a white one. There was a white one getting about on our new farm a few weeks back that looked pretty decent, out in the open feeding up on the dairy grass after the rut. I'm down there today to interview some staff and move down for good end of next week, will take a peek around with the binos today, hopefully hes still there or at least makes an appearance when he has his next set of antlers
One of the original fallow herds was established on the Coast. In the Rough area of the Paps below Reefton. Moderate sized animals. Low numbers poor head quality but that may have been recently influenced.
