    Few firsts

The brother and 2 good mates were fizzing to get a tahr to their name so after a couple weeks of finalizing plans we were on our way to franz, all 18hrs of it.
I've been hounded by the top dogs to take some annual leave so worked out well.
Flew in with Ken from whataroa carpark to glacier country to try find a woolly goat before they're wiped out.
Stayed in a cozy hut for a few days with a good fire and all the bits and pieces.
Got 1.5 days of hunting in and then 2 days of shit weather drinking rum and all that stuff but relaxing all the same , always good for a laugh with the boys.
Anyway brother got his 1st with a blown out nose after scoping himself badly, a mate got his after cutting his foot on rocks and limping around for a few days. The other mate got his after sliding down a glacier and battling knarly creeks for 4 hours and scaring the shit out of himself, always good for a laugh at end of the day.
I ended up with one at the end which was a bonus, boys smacked a couple of nannys also. Ther was a fair bit of climbing involved as most animals still up around the 1500 to 1700m mark, Seen approximately 50 tahr for the 2 days so not all bad, was pleasantly surprised. Seen a couple chams also.
Called in a and picked up couple cham skins from a trip in May and boys dropped heads and skins off to be sorted so they were bloody rapt. My job as guide worked out spot on.
Bloody great to get back into the Westcoast hills chasing the goats around, one of the best places to be!
