Just getting into hunting and intend to cut my teeth on goats before moving onto skilled prey lol.
Would anyone be kind enough to pas on tips as to best practice, best terrain, most likely spots, decent books to read, etc etc etc lol. I'm in Marlborough and am currently enjoying mostly sweaty steep DOC climbs whilst carrying a gun for company. Have put 2 in the freezer so far but only because I almost tripped over them.
Loving the buzz of being out there, as I explain to the wife, you feel alive as the adrenaline pumps in. Also feel that I learn something everytime I go out.. Be it wind, tracks, droppings, paths etc. feel like a sponge as just want to absorb and learn. Looking forward to that side of it taking alifetime.

    Cheers

sunny dry faces are good. goats hate wet feet!! they like high ridges and rocks aswell. not sure what the terrains like up there. down here the billys are scrapping and rooting so if you sit and listen in a area they are in you should pick them up, plus the smell of them!! im useless on stalking now since I use my dog. if he could talk then I would have lots of tips for you haha
