Very interested in seeing and trying that. Last hind, I got the heart out though the side of the rib cage pretty easily.

Nice one Tahr. That's exactly how I cut up my deer as well. Haven't gutted a deer in years. If the animal is smallish, I don't bone out the legs. Prefer to do it at home where I can keep things clean. If it's a large animal, then the bones are left on the hill.

Hey so I dressed out my last animal the way Tahr showed in this Thread and although it wasn't as pretty it worked and was a lot faster,when I got home I put the boned out meet into the chilla inside some mutton cloth.7 days later I grabbed it still nice and moist and it was so much quicker and tidier to prepare it for the freezer even the missus was impressed at the little mess left over.......happy wife happy life!!:).without the wiser heads on here passing on helpful tricks and tips this would be a unimpressive forum IMO Cheers BC.
