    FILM: Amax on deer

Sorry, haven't had time to use the forum much lately. Hope all is well for most.

I've been asked a few times how I find the Amax to behave on small deer.

After 100++ deer with this bullet I'm finding it excellent, I'm quite surprised if the deer walks and if it does it usually leaves a generous bloodtrail for me to follow. The attached pictures are typical.

This film shows a little more effect and bloodtrail
FILM: Amax - there will be blood

Really enjoyed that video - good to see the whole story not just the 'money' shot.

Yeah i agree, i have pinged a Fallow at 170m and a red at 100m with them that left a devastating result, the red went 20m into the scrub but the blood trail was amazing and the Fallow was through the chest out the ribs and it ripped a hole the size of a rugby ball out of the ribs on exit.

It turns the head into a wet sack full of sharp splinters. Disgusting stuff.

    hahahaha brilliant!

so in other words if I were to load my AR with 75gr A-max's(if its compatible) then it could become a very potent deer slayer?

Depends if you think a 223 is potent. It would lack penetration in 22 calibre. 6,5mm and up is good. I had some issues in 6mm.

You can't fit 75gr Amax in the magazine of an AR15. Use 77gr SMK.
