    Finished work for the year

Who has finished work for the year. I have today, good to get home and relax with a beer. Undecided wot to do as yet. May go for a sika hunt, trout fish, or may head up north and slay a few snaps. What's everyone doing.

Finished paid work, started the work Ive gotta pay for

Hired a wee digger to rip out some excess material behind the garage and chuck a retaining wall in, pretty big job. Picked the digger up at 2pm run it through to 7, got most of the dirt out, start the building tomorrow.

Get out for a hunt or 2, drink some beer and live of the bbq

On wages? Working a public holiday pretty sure you're due your full day @ ordinary hours (8 hours) for just turning up, plus OT for the worked time (i.e. 0.5 hourly rate x actual hours worked) plus a lieu day on top. technically OT plus an extra day. Check the holidays act.

Na not working stats so don't get over the hours for the week to get overtime.

Makes you really want to only do 8 hour days but then jobs woulnt get finished, wouldn't get more jobs, wouldn't have a job etc.

I already have 45 days leave owing!! Our latest employment contract states "hours outside of normal business hours" shall be paid at overtime rates. So a small win for us there as previously always been salary. I managed to get 5 days off from 5th thru 10th Jan only because my overseas visitors are here then.

You have either got a bloody big fireplace, or an ordinary sized fireplace and a wife.
