Does anyone know of a charter boat company that does drop offs to the coastal wapiti blocks. Cheers

Cheers for that, I have sent them an email

I had a reply to email and apparently there is no longer any commercial boats offering a charter service to the coastal blocks anymore. Fiordland outdoors only service the lake Te anau blocks.

Maybe to do with OOSH or the likes ????

Probably more than likely to be simply a lack of a market for the service. Far more people go to fiordland for the sounds and nature than they go for the waps.

It is concerning though because we need to be able to get into fiordland to help do our part in wapiti management.

I suspect the "day rate" for boat charters may also frighten people off.

We have a guy here in Nelson and he charges out at $2800 per day for the boat ( max number of punters is 20 I think).

I know a few guys down there but they make enough fishing to not need to do charters.
