    Fiordland Moose

    I did not know New Zealand had so many deer species. Learned that from here few days ago and surprisingly (Well not really) YouTube algorithm presented with this video

    agree Brad - consider the huge number of helicopter/ fixed wing flights + hunters + DOC workers + commercial and recreational fisherman etc and no one has seen anything -and thats for years - end of story

    The last sighting was only a few years ago 2020 (unconfirmed) But interestingly the guy was a pilot and an ex moose hunting guide in Canada so actually knew what a moose looked like!

    A very cool part of our backcountry history!

    Here's one me and Bunji shot a while back down there, took a herculean effort to drag it back to his jetboat, lucky we had his dog's to help with the carry. Can't remember which gun he brought but man it was a shooter.
