    Fire Maple

Heading south next week and wanted to buy a jetboil setup for the trip, found they were too expensive really so looked around and found this! Just arrived today, $100 off ali but definately worth it. Feels quite robust. Good size too! Cant wait to try it out down the line. Took 3 weeks to get here. Found they are on sale on tm for $100 also if anyone else is keen

Have played around with it and it takes 2mins to boil 500ml. Takes 1L. Happy lad

Hmmm, have looked into jet boil stuff and came to the conclusion it was too expensive to change from my current pocket rocket stove, this seems to fit the middle ground

This is the one I'm looking at buying.
Can't imagine the jetboil could be that much better than the cheaper copies.
I think the jetboil label is what costs so much.

Felt a couple of those in torpedo7 taupo, a bit lite and dont feel very robust. Also dont have the adapter to swap boiler out for a pan. Similar to the first model of the fire maple.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I have the earlier one of these I use when I take the kids away for a few nights.
Cost $95 delivered from Guys here in Nelson

Looks identical to the Torpedo 7 one.
First one was a dud but they swapped it no questions. Good boil time and not too bad on gas, Although I don't worry about the consumption rate too much as I am now running it on LPG refilled canisters.
About $70 on Aliexpress at present

edit to add, Earlier modal same as mine and torpedo 7 one for about $60

Yes would suggest buying off ali but i would happily pay the extra to get it in hand in a couple days as opposed to 3-4weeks

I have a jetboil I picked up while in the states, and the Firemaple which I got from Ali about 3 years ago. The jetboil I have is smaller than the Firemaple (smaller pot) but there is no quality difference between the two. The Firemaple comes with an on board igniter as well. I use the Firemaple 99% of the time since it gets used most out of the back of the truck rather than the pack and the extra size saves doing a double boil.

Buy the Firemaple with confidence. I bought two extra last year as Christmas presents for my brothers (they don't deserve me .......!)
