    First decent hunt 2024

Having shot maybe 6 deer on the farm this year. I thought it was time to get out for a semi decent walk with the young fullah, also managed to talk Philipo in to coming, and maybe shoot a deer a or two but more importantly some training for the sky tower challenge this year.
We got the walk part ticked off with nearly 15k of pretty rough track and big climbs, but no animals were harmed. There were lots of pig sign, 1 fawn last night feeding right, buy the hut, and another deer spooked on arrival at Hut.
Some really average conditions last night on the walk-in with rain and cold wind most of the walk and cloud limiting visibility, beautiful morning, but then the cloud rolled in again on way out.
I'm pretty proud of me, young mate, not a single complaint despite some really average conditions. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for phil

Awesome! That’s exactly what I want to do with my 11yo. So good to see mate! Very inspiring.
Also, I’ve don’t the sky tower stair run before.. my advice is to head to a multilevel car park building and go up/down the emergency stairwell for 10 mins. Rest then repeat, again and again. Also it’s super dusty in there so if you can handle it, wear a neck gaiter over your nose/mouth.
