First deer for 2014 and impressive Kaimai cast antler

I'm starting to get the better of the Kaimai Ranges now and last Saturday nailed my first stag for 2014, managed a neck shot but the bastard still managed to bolt and crash down one off those steep banked creek beds that you see in the bush and think...."fuck I'd hate to carry a decent animal up that!"
    That carry owned me !!

Also found a impressive 6 point (12 if matched) cast antler

    pics

Awesome stuff, mates git a couple in there two weeks ago, spiker and a ten in velvet which had good potential come hard antler time.
Do you hang yours with the skin on?

Well done Shaneo that is a good start to the year.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

You will be wrapped in your pup. Eva is a wonderful bitch. I’ve hunted with her and Craig a bit.
