Was lucky to get out over the weekend. Spot is spot and shoot across a gully set up. Had just got set up for the evening had ranged the areas visible and was lying behind the rifle sorting bipod height when this hind walked into view. She promptly walked behind a couple of trees so I had time to dial 342m and get set up on the next gap. She helpfully stopped broadside long enough for me to get a shot away.
I'm running DPT suppressor with their new brake on the front. I was able to keep the hind in the scope through the shot and saw it was a good shot from her reaction. I had not kept the couple of goats I have shot previously in the scope prior to getting the brake so pretty happy with that investment.
The 143gr ELDx went through both shoulders and she only went 20m. I was thinking about trying the 156gr Berger EOL but can't see the point now.
