    First deer ever

    Kia Ora team,

Finally shot and gutted out my first deer. Was just a young one. Was lucky enough to be invited out to a buddy’s property whose family owns 800ish acres bordering the bush and they’re overrun. Was an awesome experience and learned a lot, glad I was able to be talked through it because if I had have been doing it alone in the bush I would have been screwed. Can’t wait to get one on public land.

Well done. I remember my mate cutting up his first deer by himself. He came back with big notches in his knife, said the ribs got in the way.

Don't be afraid to enjoy the private ones, no shame in it. The public ones are always rewarding

Congrats man, always good to have someone with you for the first time butchering. I was alone but had chopped up a few sheep on the farm so had half a clue.
    Enjoy the feeds, looks tasty.

Awesome, my first attempt at cutting up a deer wasn't great so I went home and practised on a couple of our sheep.
