Many trout have been shot here tho not many would admit to doing it as it is illegal.

How deep can you effectively fish with the 223?

As a young fella with an air rifle I tried shooting a trout once.
I used the darts you could get, spike with a kind of hair tail.
I clearly remember it, it was a red dart. It near stopped once hitting the water and sunk down. I could only laugh when the trout ate it. Haha.

    Nothing wrong with a 243 spinner @veitnamcam

Especially in the shallow runs found in back country streams.

Looks like a 223 spinner is just as effective as well.

    Cheers

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

You Coasters are too soft. Try the West island.
308 on a really big lizard, and those saw nose sharks too.
But the lizard that put the wind up me was longer than the boat was. (14'). That was time to roll throttle and burn when that fucker surfaced next to us.

For a less dangerous prey, used to use the 7.62 on carp. But that was Aus.
I dont understand how the Europeans love them. They smell like shit an a good mate of mine says they taste similar...real Coaster fodder apparently. Ha ha.
