Anyone lost a 223 mag at the Sunrise carpark in the Ruahines. I've got a photo of it, but do not recognize what type of mag it is - hoping to return it to whoever has lost it. Found yesterday....

Anyone know what type of mag it is?
looks like a euro style one like a brno or something.
Looks like a tikka to me, least ways very similar to my one.
orange tips=NBTs single stacked rounds,narrows down the options....
Tikka model 590, I think?

If you want it to go to it's rightful owner I would not be posting a pic of the Mag I would say found and then it's up to the person who lost it to tell you what it belongs in or anytime Tom Dick or Harry could claim it .
definitely wouldn't be saying that had ammo in it either think that'd be a breach of some law.
Are you on any of the local hunting FB pages? I found a near new Swazi anorak on Kuri hill. Found the owner in 24hours. He could tell me what was in the pockets with accuracy so I'm pretty confident I got it to the right man.

The OP most probably took the mag out and put on top of the wagon whilst he put everything else into his ride, changed into comfy clothes, jumped in and took off forgetting all about the mag sitting on the roof...
I left one of the sleeping bags behind once, but it was my mate who slept between two mattresses, and he had all of my spare clothes on as well. He still reckoned it was freezing!Quote:

More recently I forgot my lunch when I headed out for a day hunt, I didn't enjoy that so now I put an A4 sheet of paper with "LUNCH!!!" written on it on the drivers seat of the wagon.
Usually forget stuff when off to the range, ammo, suppressor and just last weekend earmuffs so it was 22 only.
On hunts left my spoon behind a couple of times which is freaking annoying, cup also very annoying but also my mag once which turned into one of the most exciting bush hunts ever.

Was in Scone Creek Hut back in about '68 or '69 and a helicopter arrived piloted by Goodwin McNutt with Peter Harker along for the ride. Peter was wearing carpet slippers and had nothing bu a radio with him, Goodwin took off to do something expecting to return to pick up Peter, but there was some sort of breakdown and he couldn't get back. My old Gsp knew how useless I was and saved me multiple times when I got up from lunch or glassing and left something behind. She would walk back to it and bark at me if I tried to call her or carry on was bloody unbelievable.
