Has any one done the drive into the A frame hut?? If so is thr track more suited to a quad or will a 4wd be sweet and has anyone got any yarns about hunting in the area??

I haven't been up there for a few years but if it is anything like what it used to be i'd be heading for home fastish if it starts raining, the track near the start has a clay type surface and gets pretty slipery, take that new quad of yours for a drive up there but wear something warm it is pretty exposed up the top. the track goes a bit further past the hut but gets pretty boggy in places. if you are lucky a deer will pop out on the road for you, not that i've been that lucky up there.
was going to take quad for fun if nothing else knowing me il need the winch at some point
I was a up there not long ago you'd get a car to hut but not past it.
The choppers have been smashing it senseless.......
There was a chiller truck up the top and they shot 8 deer round the hut road area while I watched.......
F#!*#n Wankers i hate that they can do that so close to an easy to get to recreational area of the general public they are the pits.

Yep I feel the same.....
The chopper shot 3 deer me and mate where in the process of stalking up the cats paw, one of the big slips on the Dannevirke side.
The pilot saw us clear as but that didn't stop them blowing them away....
throw rocks at the wankers wtach the chopper fall and turn walk away. I think i would give it some serious thought if i was there!!!

A mate of mine was on a 3 day trip up in another hut paid for chopper flight in and out all the stuff that goes with the trip and found only gut bags and spent ammo shells
Theres some bastards out there!!! The road must be in good condition if a chiller truck got up there.
yea was kinda hoping it might be a mess iv got a new quad and wanna play!!!
i guess i could always just take the deer from the chiller only want some meat:thumbsup:

A frame hutt is just as poked anyway....... if your going in for a night or two make a trip further to cattle creek hutt.
Choppers soon clean up the easy deer, they wise up pretty quick tho;) Go bush

Hehe us palmy boys need some where to hunt too.:thumbsup: Spotlighting is one of those things that we all do from time to time but the satifaction of working for your kill far out weighs it.
My mate has 2 boys that love a look around was thinking A frame would be a good spot to mill around more about the getting out and about bit for them than a full blown hunting mission would be good to get some meat tho.

IT was a great hut in when I was younger had some great trips up there but we did the hard yards and hiked from Vagas side and it use too piss me off when we got there and someone rolled in with a vehicle.
