Freezer turned off accidentally need to refill it.

Went to get out some backstraps the other day and realised the freezer had been switched off at wall(will forever remain a mystery as to who did it).

I've only been back in the country just over a year, and only managed to drop a red yearling so far, but there was a lot of fish/game that generous mates had donated to get me started. Thankfully I managed to rescue a load of the veni and some goose, some salmon was ok, but ended up dumping 46kg of food(a lot was fruit and veg from mother).

Anyone have any idea how long a chest freezer would last in this situation?

Now have a nice clean freezer to refill, just gotta get the time to start finding a variety of tasty protein to harvest. Looking forward to that part, especially with Spring coming.

Based in Tauranga if anyone wants to pass on Spot-X's

If it’s not opened I’d say a couple of days

I read your title and it reminded me mine was unplugged since tuesday. Rang the cook, it hadn't been opened and all is well so thanks mate. great timing.

Depends on the freezer and ambient conditions and the seal. The stuff in the middle would be ok for longer but I would give it the smell test and use the smelly stuff as pig bait in the kaimai's.

Happened to another forum member with a tripped multiplug. He noted that his insurance policy had a $1000 spoiled food bit in it, claimed that, and then also gave the partially frozen stuff away to neighbours etc.
