It was along the lines that the govt was going to ban them for being dangerous at over a mile . I mean really ?????
there was speculation about 338 lapua at one point in time....... but the pen pushers havent a clue. unless it is set in stone, these are just rumours created to unsettle the masses.
75/15/10 black powder matters
Hopefully it stays as just a rumor be a little bit gutting if it gains traction
I'd just heard from a couple of places and it came up because I am selling a winmag and struggling so it was suggested that was why . But I'm a little bit uninformed so I thought I'd ask a larger group of people .
I would suggest most peoples "discretionary dollars" have dried up or been sucked up with the increasing costs everywhere I mean in our hobby just look at costs increases in components!I'd just heard from a couple of places and it came up because I am selling a winmag and struggling so it was suggested that was why . But I'm a little bit uninformed so I thought I'd ask a larger group of people .
As far as changes to the rules banning them goes well personally I will keep on keeping on until I have to change.......................no point in worrying about what might be!!
I guess what I need to do is find a eliminator locally bolt it on and start using it again.Nice enough rifle but it's me that's the problem to much hippy shake
Was someone using that to try and beat you down on price?

Greetings All,
I think absolute crap is the right description for the supposed rumor. This type of shit circulates freely in the US and likely will continue to do so.
That said, with the number of new wonder cartridges introduced over the last few years there is bound to be some house keeping of the ranges produced by the manufacturers. This is likely to be in the slower moving lines so it will be a very long time before we see the demise of the .300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag but others like the .264 Win Mag may not be so lucky. Time will tell.
Regards Grandpamac.
No it was just the lack of interest that was getting to me .I think it's fair to say moneys tight and if your willing to give stuff away it will sell if your wanting to keep your shirt it's a long haul . But with all the law changes happening at the moment it pays to be informed so hence my post.
The NZPHQ driven Order in Council bannomatic mood seems to have died down now that its obvious to the wider public that 2 Tranches of Arms Act amendments and a knee jerk 'buy back' haven't 'made us safer'.
Quite the opposite. Gun crime has gone up 30-40% (depending what date you use) since 2018.
So our 300 WinMags are pretty safe.
Welcome to Sako club.
It did what it was always going to do affect the law abiding citizens .Which all of us licenced firearm owners are but fall short on the rest of the population that have firearms illegally
load of crap IMO. people just wont comply with any sort of demand for this type of rubbish. Even if they ban the cartridge, enough reloading components around to continue using them.
Its bad enough that we've lost semi autos.
And their plan hasn't worked. Gun violence is thru the roof.
