@Bagheera yup but there were firearms in the confiscation that had sporting use that were verboten.
May not have been a lot of them like the remington and browning pumps and semi autos but the detachable mag and a desire to make sure pump ar15s never made it here doomed them.
Even if they made it for calibres under 7mm.wouldve made some.logical sense.
Imagine trying to get a rapid 5+ shots off with a 300 magnum out of a pump action.
Like the aussie laws, confused and jumbled.
They can have pump centerfires but not shotguns. Lever action shotties fell through the cracks.
Now we can have all the shotties but pump detachable mag rifles are goneski.
The big surprise was still being allowed lever actions, especially the detachable mag types.
    Not complaining

So naturally the UK cops have concerns about this class of rifle
I thought the IRA were 1) pretty much ceasefired now, and 2) in FUCKING IRELAND!!

As far as I am aware, the 338 wielding IRA are not currently, or in the foreseeable future, operating in NZ. Problem avoided.

I suppose we should be concerned about folks that have diesel, superphosphate and aluminium sawdust as well - I mean, there was some pretty nasty stuff done with that in N Ireland, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Iraq....

The real answer is for people in a country to not feel like this sort of BS is an answer to what troubles them.

But the occupants of clowntown will never pass anti woke legislation ay. That would create mighty vacuum in the area.
