Exactly, there’s hundreds of other parties that would have gone or at least tried. Hence there is the rule to keep it fair and give maximum opportunity for the ballots to be used and to get people in. Had they followed the rule and withdrawn prior to 20th Feb, another party would have been able to use their slot and would have turned up and got the opportunity to hunt Wapiti country. Instead they didn’t even try and no-one else got the opportunity because of it. Seems pretty simple to me and it’s only a matter of reading into why things are done to understand them.
The only complaint I have is communicating with the foundation can be bloody difficult (email) with delayed response times (if you get a response) and trying to get things done like changing a party member can be difficult. It was frustrating but I do understand they are volunteers doing a huge amount of work to make it all happen. This is also why there is a deadline, the administration involved in changing parties at late notice would just not be feasible for them. Especially if every second party decides they are a bit scared of the wet.
