The US stuff i bloody expensive by the time it arrives here but I have found it (from the 2 jackets and a couple of tops I wear most all the time) seems to last and hold up better (Sitka and Kuiu from personal experience). I think in the US the suppliers work on the Smaller Margins + Less failures = less complaints which if you deal those with really well = more sales system, something which NZ Retailer seem is a very difficult concet to grasp.
Have you tried NZ 'Game Gear' tough working gear oriented towards pig hunters not poser type stuff

The Game Gear doesn't look too badly priced if it's good quality. And that's coming from a skinflint like me......

I could be tempted by some of the Cactus gear if I had to go looking for some more.

Interesting that no one is mentioning Swazi. I have never had any of their gear fall apart. It seems to just keep going for me.

Swazi took a certain position on semi automatic rifles, namely that they are not needed in NZ society. They and others threw us semi owners under the bus.

    We are not amused.

Cactus does some seriously good gear (have stuff ranging from winter ski/work pants to an apron) Generally to heavy and noisey for hunting but not always....

There is the theory that if you go on aliexpress and pay $20 for a shirt thats lasts a season you are better off than buying a $200 sh2urt hoping you havent lost it in 10years.... personally cry once and buy quality then if you need to rely on your gear you can

My first thar jacket lasted 10plus years and i still will use for summer hunting, thats why i brought another swazi thar 12months ago. Not the lightest gear on the market but if i get 10years from my new jacket i will be happy as.
The best pants i owned was a pair of swazi 4wd pants last for years, the only thing that ruined them was wearing them to work when grinding

I use the cactus mountain jacket and rifle scabbard.

Wear cactus pants or shorts daily for work. Took me 8 years to break the last pair of cactus trade pants, they started to wear out where the canvas had a fold at the base of the pocket. Lets a refreshing breeze in around your fruits. In a soils testing lab and in the field a pair of jeans seem to last around 6 months.
