Thread: Goats or deer spots near ross Westcoast

Hi all. Im staying in ross with my partner and looking for somewhere to take her to shoot some goats or even a deer... is anyone familiar with the area and know of somewhere we could possibly go? Havent had any luck with locations we've been to so this is my last resort lol.

I believe the area around Scamper Torrent hut in the upper Waitara has goats (more than likely deer too), but looks to be a fair walk to get to the hut.

Go to the Ross pub and ask there. Brilliant place and someone should give you a steer.

P.S. Last Friday of the month and its live band night. Not bad for a town with a couple of hundred inhabitants

Walk up the Waitaha Valley to Kiwi Flat Hut where you can climb up to Scamper Torrent Hut if you like but before you even get to Kiwi Flat you should be bumping into goats

Great thanks everyone! Unfortunately time got away on us and i followed @XR500 advice and tested the pub a couple too many times haha.
However will be returning for work in the near future so will definitely extend the visit and try check out some of your recommendations.
